In a significant move towards restoring peace and unity in Nimo community, Mayor of Njikoka LGA, Barr. Chinedu Dominic Ononiba today officially inaugurated the Interim Committee of the Nimo Town Development Union (NTDU). The inauguration, held in Njikoka Local Government headquarters, marked a new chapter for the town, which has been faced with prolonged internal conflict and leadership crisis.

While addressing the committee during the inauguration, the Mayor emphasized the importance of rebuilding lasting peace in Nimo, urging all factions to set aside differences for the greater good of the community. “Every new level attracts a new devil,” he remarked, noting that while the road to peace may not be easy, it is necessary. He encouraged the members to make sacrifices, stating that true leadership means making the right decisions in the interest of the people, even when it is difficult.

“There are people benefiting from the ongoing crisis, but we must rise above personal interests. We owe it to the people of Nimo to do everything within our power to bring lasting peace,” the Mayor stated. He called on all indigenes of Nimo to "shift their swords" and support the new committee in restoring unity and progress.
