BOOSTING AGRICULTURE: MAYOR NJIKOKA EMPOWERS NJIKOKA FARMERS

In a significant stride towards agricultural development, the Mayor of Njikoka Local Government Area, Barr. Chinedu Dominic Ononiba, alongside his beautiful wife, Mrs. Pamela Ononiba, the Deputy Mayor of Njikoka Local Government, Hon. Lady Iyom Fidelia Okafor, distributed 60,000 hybrid plantain suckers, 80,000 organic fertilizers, 20 bags of sesame seeds, and 20 bags of soya beans across the 18 wards of Njikoka LGA. This initiative aims to promote food security, enhance local farming, and empower farmers with high-yield and eco-friendly resources.

Barr. Ononiba emphasized his administration's commitment to making agriculture the backbone of Njikoka’s economy. By providing farmers with the necessary tools and resources, the local government seeks to boost productivity and generate economic benefits throughout the communities.

The event witnessed the presence of notable stakeholders, including Anambra State Honourable Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr. Foster Ihejiofor, Hon. Sir Chinedu Nwoye (Glamour), State Chief of Protocol and Deputy Chief of Staff to Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo CFR, Hon. Jude Akpua PhD, Deputy Majority Leader representing Njikoka II at the Anambra State House of Assembly, Chief Ozomkpu Nduka Okoye (Ubinemenni), APGA Chairman Anambra Central, Pharm. Chinedu Aniekwe, APGA Njikoka Chairman, Njikoka Councillors, Supervisor Councillors, and Supervisor for Agriculture Hon. Benjamin Chika Omile.

This agricultural intervention is expected to significantly enhance productivity and generate economic benefits across the communities. By distributing high-yield plantain suckers and organic fertilizers, the initiative aligns with the broader goals of sustainable agriculture and food security in the region.

The Mayor's efforts reflect a proactive approach to addressing food security challenges and promoting economic growth through agriculture. The Mayor commended the Solution Governor, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo CFR, for the wonderful initiative and support.
