DUBS IT A BUDGET OF STRONG COMMITMENT TO DEVELOPMENT AND SUSTAINABLE GROWTH.
The Mayor of Njikoka, Hon. Barr. Chinedu D. Ononiba has applauded the Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Charles Soludo CFR, for the timely and well-structured presentation of the 2026 Appropriation Bill to the Anambra State House of Assembly, describing the budget as “a forward-looking financial framework that reflects a strong commitment to development, inclusiveness, and sustainable growth.”
Speaking shortly after the budget was laid before lawmakers, the Mayor of Njikoka praised the administration for prioritizing critical sectors such as education, infrastructure, economic development, health, and social welfare, noting that the allocations align with the needs and aspirations of citizens.
He highlighted the significant increase in capital spending, which he said demonstrates the government’s resolve to accelerate infrastructural renewal, expand economic opportunities, and strengthen service delivery across the state. The Mayor further commended the robust investment in the education sector, which recorded one of the highest percentage increases from the previous year.
According to him, the 2026 budget, aptly themed “Changing Gears 3.0: Solution Continues,” shows a clear roadmap for consolidating progress made in past years while introducing strategic interventions that will shape long-term socio-economic transformation.
Hon. Barr. Chinedu D. Ononiba assured residents of Njikoka Local Government’s readiness to effectively support the implementation of the budget once approved, adding that synergy among all levels of government is key to ensuring that the budget's benefits are felt across communities.
The Mayor later urged the House of Assembly to give the document accelerated but thorough consideration, expressing optimism that the 2026 fiscal plan will deliver improved infrastructure, job creation, quality education, and enhanced living standards for the people.
