The Muoegbunam road at Irukofia-Ifiteni Village, Nimo, has remained inaccessible to vehicles since the end of September due to severe erosion. The road, which is important to local residents, has become dangerous and badly damaged, affecting movement and economic activities in the area.
To address the issue, the Mayor of Njikoka Local Government, Barr. Chinedu Dominic Ononiba, led a team to inspect the affected portion of the road as soon as to commence palliative work on the road. He expressed concern over the level of damage and assured the community that the council will take immediate steps to control the erosion and carry out palliative repairs to restore access.
