





The Red Cross Society has honoured the Mayor of Njikoka Local Government Area and his wife Lady Pamela Ononiba with distinguished titles in recognition of their unwavering support to humanitarian service. At a brief but colourful ceremony, the mayor was decorated as Patron, while his wife received the title of Mother-General, a tribute to her compassion, service, and consistent support for community welfare initiatives
Speaking during the presentation, the Red Cross leadership praised the couple for their outstanding commitment to excellent leadership within the local government. They highlighted the Mayor’s proactive administration, people-centered policies, and continuous collaboration with humanitarian organizations as exemplary models of service.
The organization also lauded the Mayor’s wife for her motherly role, social impact programs, and advocacy for vulnerable groups, noting that her contributions have strengthened the humanitarian work of the Red Cross in the area.
In their remarks, the newly decorated Patron, Hon. Barr. Chinedu D. Ononiba and Mother-General, Lady Pamela Ononiba thanked the Red Cross Society for the honour and reaffirmed their dedication to supporting initiatives that promote humanity, relief, and community development.
Hon. Barr. Chinedu Ononiba also pledged to lend all necessary support to the Red Cross Society Njikoka Local Government chapter to enable them to perform their humanitarian task efficiently and seamlessly. He swiftly added that their appeal would be diligently looked into, and meaningful assistance would be extended to them . He took time to eulogise the humanitarian efforts of the organization during conflict, disaster and emergency period and opined that no amount of praise were enough to capture the impact and import of Red Cross Society in our world.
